Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Stocks at Tuxedo Villa in his 96th year on 7 March, 2015.
Clarence lived most of his life in the Roland Municipality, except for the period when he was fighting overseas. He enlisted in March 1941 with the Fort Garry Horse, 10th Armoured Division and served overseas until the end of the Second World War. He was amongst the first to land on D-Day and was seriously wounded in September. After a lengthy convalescent period in several hospitals, he returned to Dundee, Scotland where he met up with his wife Jean whom he had married the previous April. She predeceased him in 2007.

Clarence is survived by his three daughters and their families, Lorna and Dave Morreau (Monica, Duska and Shayla), Margaret Dijeh (Brett, Jennifer and Felicia) and Maureen and Danny Schroeder (Andrea, Kevin and Michael) and great grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Noah, Hudson, Lily, Mia, Anderson, Chanelle, Everett, Eli and by his sisters Eva Pederson of Carman and Marguerite McKnight (Alan) of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Jennie Stocks; brothers Keith and Ivan; sisters Marion McKerlie, Jessie Pannebaker, Jennet Bell and infant granddaughter Briana.

Clarence was a devoted husband and father and a generous friend and neighbour. While our mother was in Salem Home, he visited her every day. He had many interests, among them needlepoint for which he won prizes at the Red Exhibition, gardening and baking. He especially enjoyed distributing his home-baked pies and buns to friends and family.
We would ask that in lieu of flowers, you donate to a charity of your choice. Doyle’s of Carman is in charge of funeral arrangements. A brief graveside ceremony will be held at Roland Fairview Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 4th to be followed by a reception at Roland United Church.
